Antique Long Focus Poco No 18 folding bellows camera. Made by the American Camera Mfg Co in the 1890's this original concertina style bellows camera comes with its original case albeit in poor condition with 2 plate holders. The main body is made from rich mahogany which frames a Unicum shutter with a Bosch & Lomb lens. The lens is clean with no fungus and the shutter shoots well.

The American Camera Mfg. Company was founded in Northboro , MA in 1895 by Thomas Blair. The American Camera Mfg. Co. was only in business a few years as Blair sold out to George Eastman in 1898. The company was moved to Rochester around 1899 and continued to operate as the American Camera Mfg. Co. After the Eastman Kodak acquisition of the Rochester Optical and Supply Co. conglomeration (Rochester Optical, Rochester Camera, Monroe, Ray and Western Camera Co.) in 1903, all Kodak Poco model folding cameras were marked as Made for American Camera Mfg. Co.

This camera came from the private collection of a vintage / antique camera collector in Los Angeles. This would make a great decorative addition to any eclectic home decor or as an addition to your vintage camera collection.

Camera measures 10" long by 10" wide by 4" deep and weighs 5lb 10oz.
Case measures 19" long by 10.5" wide by 4.5" deep.
Altogether weighs 10lb 1oz.

CONDITION

In good working condition with small signs of wear and tear commensurate with age and use. There is a small repair on the right side of the bellows where a ring would have been. There are also some scratches to the center of the wooden base where the bellows roll out. Shutter has a slight delay but the apertures adjust easily.
